Promoting the future: Arminera approaches students from all parts of the country

10 Apr 2017

With the aim of making the industry known to younger generations, the organizers of the exhibition summon schools and universities from different provinces to visit the fair and have a direct contact with the sector.

Feria Arminera 2017

Arminera gives students of technical schools and universities from all parts of the country the possibility to have a direct knowledge of the industry, the referent companies and their future colleagues. In this sense, the organization invites several institutions of Buenos Aires and from the interior of the country to visit the fair in its second and third day -May 8 and 9, respectively- and, for this, it supplies buses and the necessary logistics to ease the access from different areas of the country.

The aim is to bring the activity closer to new generations for them to get familiar with it and know it first hand. Mining is one of the most important industries in the country, which demands qualified professionals of several specialties. Currently, the mining base companies, the exploring companies and the projects under development employ 84,000 people and have better salaries in relation to other economic sectors.

However, the distance of the projects and their geographical location sometimes make difficult to access them, thus many young people don't know the professional development opportunities that they may have within the activity. In Arminera, students can be in contact with the exhibiting mining companies and institutions related to the sector, which will show their activities and current projects under development.

Up to now, groups from Catamarca, Chubut, Jujuy, Mendoza, Salta, San Juan, San Luis, Santa Cruz, and Tucumán are confirmed and we hope that more groups join in the next weeks.

The 12th International Trade Fair for the Mining Industry will take place on May 7-9 in Costa Salguero Center of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event is organized by the Argentine Chamber of Mining Companies (CAEM) and Messe Frankfurt Argentina.

The exhibition is only for businessmen and professionals of the sector. With an invitation: free of charge. People under 16 years will not be admitted, even if attending with an adult.

Background information on Argentine Chamber of Mining Companies (CAEM)
The Argentine Chamber of Mining Companies (CAEM) was founded in 1991 as a result of the joint decision of the most important companies already present in the market, and with the purpose of strengthening and streamlining the potential of the mining industry. CAEM represents its members before the country’s authorities and abroad, as well as before individuals and private companies, promotes congresses, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, events and publications and encourages the exchange with public institutions and private organizations connected to mining activities, locally and abroad.   The Argentine Chamber of Mining Companies (CAEM) gathers all of the mining activities. It represents - in every production stage – those companies dedicated to metalliferous and non-metalliferous mining and construction materials. It also gathers the Exploration Chambers, the provincial Chambers of the industry and suppliers: from machinery manufacturers to consumer goods and services companies, as well as technical, legal and financial advisors.
