Arminera 2025 was a record-breaking edition—not only in terms of visitor numbers, but also in terms of exhibition space. Including co-exhibitors, over 500 companies were present, occupying 22,000 gross square meters and 3,000 square meters of outdoor space. With packed aisles and auditoriums, more than 100 talks and conferences took place, featuring key figures in the development of the mining industry in Argentina and the region.
CAEM President Roberto Cacciola stated that Arminera 2025 reflected the current moment of the mining industry: filled with challenges and expectations, but also with tangible progress. He highlighted the strong support from provinces driving sector growth: “This was undoubtedly the most federal Arminera ever. The event ends with great enthusiasm due to high participation, satisfaction with key decisions made, and a strong desire to grow. Let’s keep working for Argentine mining.”
Similarly, regarding the exhibition’s strong national and international participation, Messe Frankfurt Argentina’s President and CEO Fernando Gorbarán remarked: “Arminera has established itself as a platform that supports and promotes the growth of this sector. A clear example is the active participation of various international delegations, attendance by nine governors of mining provinces, and the trust shown by each exhibiting company presenting their latest innovations.”
Twelve Argentine provinces were present: Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, La Rioja, San Juan, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Río Negro, Santa Cruz, and Neuquén. Delegations from 17 countries also participated: Argentina, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Chile, China, Spain, the United States, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Switzerland, and Singapore.
Another record was set during the Matchmaking Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening ties between suppliers and operational mining sites in the region to enhance value chain integration. Over 3,700 meetings took place—double the number from the previous edition. It was a unique opportunity to identify business and growth opportunities. Various exhibitors showcased their products and services to company representatives, focusing on sustainable, long-term business relationships.
A Packed Agenda of Talks and Conferences
The three-day event focused on key themes repeated throughout the panels, government official presentations, and activities: industry sustainability, investment and financing for growth, and the implementation of new technologies and innovation.
A highlight was the Arminera 2025 Summit, with multiple talks by specialists and industry leaders. The first day featured Federal Arminera: A Journey Through Provincial Mining, showcasing regional agendas focusing on production, employment, and future outlooks with participation from provincial authorities.
A major event was the Opening Ceremony, which featured two major panels: One-on-One with the Provinces and Ambassadors Panel: Sharing Experiences from Other Mining Countries. In the former, governors from Río Negro, Santa Cruz, Mendoza, Salta, Jujuy, Santa Fe, San Juan, and Catamarca discussed the opportunities and challenges of mining in their provinces. In the latter, ambassadors from Canada, France, Switzerland, and Peru shared how Argentine mining is attracting interest from global investors.
The Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), together with Accenture, hosted the talk Artificial Intelligence Applied to Mining, focusing on the development of the mining ecosystem. They presented new AI tools and cutting-edge technologies, along with international best practices and case studies.
The Seminar for Prospectors and Developers was another key meeting point for entrepreneurs, featuring strategies to obtain financing for productive projects.
Additionally, the event Transparency and Sustainability in the Mining Industry was held, divided into three sections. EITI presented its fourth transparency report on the extractive industry. The second block discussed sustainable mining standards in Argentina, and the third block featured results from the First Biodiversity Management Competition in the mining industry, where companies showcased their commitment to environmental preservation.
Parallel Activities
To promote direct dialogue between key actors in the European financial ecosystem and representatives of Argentine projects related to the energy transition, the EU Trade Mission Event took place during Arminera.
Another significant event was the CAMMA Mining and Sustainability Forum of the Americas, organized by the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Conference of Mining Ministries of the Americas (CAMMA). Officials discussed under the theme Explore More, Extract Better: The Path to a Sustainable Supply of Metals and Minerals.
The IDEA-CAEM Experience: Leading Mining Development created a space for dialogue about business opportunities and industry challenges. Topics included new regulatory policies, adoption of technological innovations, and attracting investments.
The panel Keys to the Development of the Mining Sector: Educational and Labor Needs featured results from the national survey Challenges and Educational and Labor Needs in the Mining Sector by WIM Argentina and Poliarquía Consultores. Participants emphasized the need to incorporate women’s perspectives and close the gender gap in mining.
IADEM hosted the 4th International Congress of the Argentine Institute of Mining Law, bringing together top lawyers from Argentina and the region. Topics included mining contracts, investment regimes, and legal perspectives on Argentina’s favorable environment for mining investment.
